Queen's Procession to Buckingham Palace
Calgarian Nefeli Kotopoulos, was visiting in London with some friends. After a busy day of sightseeing on 13 September 2022, she realized the Queen's coffin would be driven to Buckingham Palace that evening. They stood in the rain for 2.5 hrs talking to the people around them. After helicopters caught their attention, they were able to see the Queen's coffin as the hearse drove right by them.
She found herself saying "wow" out loud, impressed by the moment. "The coffin was lit with lights and was insane, and then some members of The Royal Family followed. It was interesting because people cheered and I thought it would be dead silent. But the cheer was like a 'yay, we love you!' moment. At the end, some man yelled, 'Three cheers for the Queen' and everyone yelled 'hip hip hooray.' A historic moment and super exciting we got to see it."
