EUSI Annual SymposiumOn May 31, 2025, the Edmonton United Services Institute (EUSI) will host its annual symposium at the Chateau Nova Kingsway Hotel (159 Airport Road, Edmonton). The event will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with lunch provided at no cost. This year’s symposium pays tribute to Canadian military personnel, police officers, and civilians who served in the Balkans between 1991 and 2010. Whether you were part of UNPROFOR, IFOR, SFOR, EUFOR, NATO HQ Sarajevo, or other missions in the region, EUSI invites you to share your experiences. Attendees will participate in small group discussions (6–8 people per table) to exchange stories from their deployments. To help document these accounts, EUSI is collaborating with local universities to involve students in recording and preserving these personal histories, which will be archived in a location to be determined. This event is proudly co-sponsored by the NATO Association of Canada, the Military Collectors Club of Canada (Edmonton), the Valour Park Association, the Royal Commonwealth Society, and the ANAVETS. The Valour Park Association and LER Museum will also showcase vehicles and equipment used during these missions. Anyone who is interested in sharing their stores from the podium or from a small group discussion table, and be recorded, is asked to contact Capt (ret) David Jackson CD no later than April 26, 2025 We welcome all members of the public, serving and retired military personnel, and supporters of the Canadian Armed Forces to attend. Registration is free, but we ask participants to complete the registration form on the EUSI website by May 15, 2025. If you served in the Balkans, please provide details about your mission as part of your registration.
